maxon recently presented a powerful motor for e-bikes, the BIKEDRIVE. Yet that was only the beginning: The new MARS business unit (Maxon Advanced Robotics & Systems) is dedicated exclusively to mechatronic drive systems.

maxon has founded a business unit under the name MARS (Maxon Advanced Robotics & Systems), which focuses exclusively on the development and production of mechatronic drive systems. maxon motor CEO Eugen Elmiger says: 'We are bundling our years of know-how and our resources in mechatronic drive technology to continue offering our customers the best solutions in the future.'
Drive systems for e-bikes, robots and exoskeletons
The MARS team has almost 20 employees and is located in Switzerland. The premises also house the production, development and sales for the BIKEDRIVE. BIKEDRIVE is the first project of the new subsidiary, which plans to sell several thousand units of this new e-bike drive annually. Other products include an innovative drive unit with a dual-clutch gearhead for use in robotics.
