Integration made easy.

The successful maxon motor EPOS2 motion controllers for brushed and brushless DC motors are being enriched by even more possible fields of application.

  • Deployment of computer-based motor drive, rather than traditionally used PLC systems, are becoming more and more prevalent

Deployment of computer-based motor drive, rather than traditionally used PLC systems, are becoming more and more prevalent. maxon motor EPOS2 positioning controllers now support CANopen interfaces Kvaser and NI-XNET, in addition to the existing NI, IXXAT and Vector.

There are also new opportunities for computer platforms with serial communication, via USB or RS232, using Windows or Linux. The existing libraries for Intel/AMD (Windows 32/64-Bit, Linux 32-Bit) are further extended with a Linux 64-Bit version, with additional support of 32-Bit ARMv6/v7 solutions allows the broad scale use of trend platforms, such as Raspberry Pi or BeagleBone.

Easy integration into a master system plays a crucial role in the success of the EPOS2. The choice of master system is freely available, using extensively documented maxon libraries to make integration of EPOS2 slave drive controllers a quick and simple task.

maxon motor are offering free EPOS training on 5th February 2015 at the UK offices in Finchampstead, telephone 01189 733 337 to register.
