In January this year, drive specialist maxon motor began making 2D/ 3D data and data sheets of its products available for free download through TraceParts. The CAD portal's library contains detailed information and technical drawings of maxon DC and EC motors, sensors, gearheads, brakes and control electronics.

The multi-CAD capability of the online application ensures compatibility with all standard CAD systems: SolidWorks, Catia, Pro/Engineer, Inventor, Solid Edge, TopSolid, thinkdesign, Unigraphics, Alibre Design, Acis, STEP, IGES, DWG, DXF.

According to TraceParts, it is one of the world's largest CAD component libraries with over 100 million available CAD models. Following the merger of the CAD content of TraceParts and web2CAD, the TraceParts Online portal is now available to CAD users worldwide for free. More than 750,000 users have already accessed its components catalogs.

Of course all technical documents and drawings are still freely available in the maxon e-Shop in PDF, DXF and STEP formats.
